Alila Fort Bishangarh, Jaipur

Perched magnificently upon a granite hill, the bold, striking architecture of Alila Fort Bishangarh appears seamlessly sculpted from the surrounding rustic terrain, overlooking 360-degree views of the impressive Rajasthani landscape. Perhaps the only warrior fort to be converted into a heritage resort, this historic landmark is a unique example of Jaipur Gharana architecture, influenced by both the Mughals and the British.
The imposing fortress structure has been left intact with its towering turrets, arched windows, even a granite dungeon, now a luxury spa. It’s a spectacular sight to behold and full to the brim with five-star amenities including a library, pool veranda and terrace, cigar lounge and regal banquet hall. The surrounding views of the Aravalli Mountain range only add to its majesty and mystique.

This all-suite resort boasts 59 stately rooms and suites that are designed for quiet indulgence. Each suite is individually created to capture the stunning views. Its spacious interiors are elegantly furnished with large bay windows and day-beds, expansive bathrooms with footed bathtubs, luxury bedding and room amenities, comfortably accommodating a family of four.

Families are more than welcome at the Alila Fort Bishangarh. Special meals for children can be prepared upon request. The pool and gardens provide lots of space for running around, whilst the spacious rooms are very comfortable for a family of four.

Down the hill, the ‘Haveli’ comprises the arrival courtyard, luxurious banquet lawns, the pool, pool terrace with the Mediterranean inspired farm-to-table restaurant, gym and a ‘Play Alila’ club for kiddies. Within the fort, are four speciality themed restaurants, ‘Amarsar’, the speciality restaurant based on the Road Silk Route, ‘Nazaara’, an outdoor dining venue with spectacular views, ‘Madhuveni’, the bar & cigar lounge and ‘Kachchawa’ a champagne bar, coffee, chai, and cakes lounge. Alila Fort Bishangarh provides a majestic locale for grand weddings and celebratory events including MICE facilities. Darbar, the royal banquet hall, Dawat, the banquet dining room, and Saheb, the conference and meeting room and Aravali Bagh, the expansive lawn, provide the perfect setting for all occasions. Other facilities are the library and Spa Alila.

Horse Riding

Relive the royal days of the Shekhawati dynasty, riding like warriors of old on a fascinating trail to explore along the river bed and the old shelter of Bishangarh. The journey will take you to the 500-year-old Hanuman temple which is located right next to an old dam built by the villagers to collect water from the river Madhuveni, the oldest river in the area that once flowed along the periphery of Bishangarh village. Relish the fresh air of the Aravalli hills, tour the organic garden that belongs to the saint who takes care of the temple, and enjoy a light picnic at a very old abandoned shelter.
