Accommodation

Distinctive comforts with subtle embellishments make your stay at the Galle Face hotel and experience to look forward to time and again. There are five categories of rooms within the hotel. There are 27 Superior rooms which feature a queen or twin sized beds, exuding a colonial feel with wonderful wood finishes giving the rooms a nostalgic feeling. The Landmark rooms, also in either queen or twin size beds, are rich in tone with sumptuous upholstery and elegant mixes of modern and classical finishes. The Premier rooms feature either sea views or sea views with balconies. The rooms are slightly bigger than the previous and feature twin and king sized beds and give bright and interesting views due to their elevated location. The Junior Suites range in size from 50 to 60 square meters, with either sea views or sea views with balconies and offer elegant styling with a feel of a bygone era. These Junior Suites enjoy the unrivalled experience of the Long Room, a private lounge with elegant personal service. Finally there are the Heritage Suites, which range in size from 70 to over 250 square meters and are tastefully furnished in keeping with the enduring history of the hotel.

Each of the rooms within the hotel offer complimentary Wi-Fi, satellites televisions, air conditioning, a safety deposit box, a selection of teas, complimentary soft drink selection and various luxury amenities.

Facilities

The Galle Face Hotel lays claim to some of Colombo’s finest cuisines in unique locations throughout the hotel, whether its an elegant afternoon tea at The Verandah or an innovative modern menu at the 1864. A specially mixed Pimms cup on the chequerboard or a spectacular seafood experience at Sea Spray, the Galle Face Hotel dining experience are legendary and a ‘must do’ whilst in Colombo. If you are looking for casual dining then the In..On The Green, which faces Galle Face Road, offers a laid back atmosphere for drinking and dining with live music, sports viewings and quiz nights during the week.

The swimming pool at the hotel is the only salt water pool in Colombo and an ideal place to relax with a cool drink after a few laps of the pool. A new Spa will be opening soon, or if you are feeling competitive try your hand at Croquet on the south lawn. If you want to explore the history of the hotel make sure you visit the museum full of famous faces and artefacts set out with loving care and situated on the second floor of the South wing of the hotel. A hotel Historian conducts tours of the hotel every Tuesday and Thursdays.
