Nestled in the jade hills and deep valleys of the southern state of Karnataka, lies Coorg. It is blessed with scenic charm and picturesque views. Besides the incredible atmosphere, this hill station has a rich cultural and historical backdrop. Dating back to 2nd century many wars have been fought to gain control of the area. Till the 14th century, Coorg was ruled by various dynasties such as the Cholas, the Hoysalas and the Vijayanagara kings. In the year 1956, the Coorg was declared a district and was merged with the state of Karnataka.
This region is well known around the world for its coffee and spice plantations. Coorg is also known for its forest honey.
